Love myths?

Lots of people read about dragons, fairies, vampires, and other mythical beings from the old European legends. But what do you know about the fantastic creatures in Native American legends? See "Did you know?" for some amazing stories!

Kimball Fisher

Welcome!

I hope you enjoy exploring my website. But beware! Once you meet skinwalkers and spirits you may cringe on your evening walks when you hear the distant shuffling sounds of something following you. You’ll wonder if your friends and relatives are possessed by demons, or whether--just as you turn your back to them--they assume the forms of the half-human, half-animal beings you always suspected they were.

If you start to love Native American lore, then who will clean your room? How will you have the time to watch enough TV or make it to the highest levels of your favorite game? When will you practice the tuba? And without tidy bedrooms, knowledgeable TV watchers, and expert gamers, where would civilization be? What would we do without tuba players? Horrors!

Perhaps it is better to walk away while you still have a chance.

Latest news from Kimball Fisher:

I just finished Thunderbird Feather, an adventure fantasy novel for middle-graders.

The last thing that 13-year-old Zachary None expects is that his deformed hand will make him a basketball star and secure his position at the top of the social ladder in his Portland, Oregon middle school. But the mixed-race Native American is even more surprised to learn that it is a sign of looming demonic possession.

After a mysterious bird-shaped thunderhead razes his group home and a demon kidnaps Cricket--his irritatingly brainy foster sister who trades her computer hacking skills with him for popularity tutoring--Zachary discovers two shocking truths: that the mythological creatures of a secret tribe called the Tillichicket are real, and that Cricket is his best friend.

As Zachary embarks on a bone-rattling quest to rescue her, he must locate and master the forgotten magic of a thunderbird feather, cross wits with the perplexing trickster Kai Yote, befriend a volatile Sasquatch who guards the passage to the Land of the Dead, and elude the fabled Mesachie spirit cannibal. His journey to save his friend and family will ultimately save Zachary as well, as he learns how to heal much more than his hand.
